Industry veterans and legends don’t come more revered and established than Italian artist Aria, real name Mariano Schiavolini, who celebrates the release of his latest single Smile on August 14th, in tribute to his decades-long experience in the music industry.
An infectious ode to global brotherhood, Smile features musicians from around the world, from American bassist Joseph Patrick Moore – bassist for Steward Copeland of The Police – to a Brazilian horn section, 12-string guitar by Marco Lelpo, and vocals by Ariel Jones, who also contributed Portuguese lyrics.
The multi-faceted production and songwriting reflects Aria’s masterful ability to create intricate and complex melodies with analogue set-ups that capture individual frequencies to greater fidelity. The accompanying music video was also a global collaboration and brought the smiles of people of all backgrounds together to interpret the song’s optimistic message. English author Nicolette Turner also wrote the English lyrics, which were then sung by Jones. The Portuguese version of Smile is expected to release in the South American market. Subsequent to the single, Aria’s impressive accolades have included charting in Italy and overseas, various plays on BBC radio, and millions of streams and views on his songs and videos, all while dedicating the money from some of his releases to a range of charitable causes.
