When rap is positive, it can be contagious, and this is the case with Bristol-based artist Kwazi. Having written songs since the age of 12, Kwazi’s love for music is deep-rooted. Following a challenging education with anti-social behaviour and drugs, music was Kwazi’s motivation to get his life back on track.
With this in mind, it’s no surprise that Kwazi’s lyrics are brimming with optimism, where his ‘Baggies and Brandy’ EP revolves around doing what you love and focusing on the positives. This inspirational mindset is translated into Kwazi’s hopes for the album, with his goal being to challenge the violent narrative portrayed in modern rap. Instead, he aims to uplift listeners’ self-confidence through his work.
This EP is an inspiring and thought-provoking body of work which is sure to make a mark on anyone who listens.
