London-based husband and wife duo Toby & Pip have released their latest single ‘New Year’, inspired by their first meeting at a friends New Year’s Eve party 11 years ago.
If you are a fan of artists such as The Shires and Passenger, Toby & Pip are ones to listen to, with ‘New Year’ being their third released single. Toby & Pip’s joint singer-songwriter style highlights their mutual love for cheesy pop, classic rock and folk music which each heavily influence the duo’s music style.
The single combines the musical talents of the couple, with lyrics about their love. It is a soulful and uplifting, emotional song which celebrates the importance of always having a special someone by your side to welcome the new year in.
‘New Year‘ was written and recorded by Toby & Pip with their good friend Anthony Strong – who is a legendary jazz artist himself, producing the song, providing piano, and other instrumentation and arrangements. The single is self-released under the couple’s own label Peaches Records, and is a prime example of how you can go all the way in music with nothing but your own passion.
