Nobody is sad to say goodbye to 2020. COVID-19 has affected millions of people across the world; we have had to cancel birthdays, weddings, dinners, festivals and so many other experiences with our nearest and dearest.

Many of us have needed extra support this year and with Christmas just around the corner, we must thank the Amazing people who have made this possible, as well as celebrate the end of 2020…. at last!

Merv Pinny has released his Christmas single ‘Amazing’ to give thanks to all the people who have come forward to offer this much-needed support. Merv references the challenges we’ve faced during this global pandemic and celebrates the achievements of those who have faced the brunt of covid.

Merv Pinny was brought up in New Zealand’s North Island to become a dairy farmer. It was only after he was given a guitar at the age of ten that his musical ambitions ignited. Merv received this guitar as a gift from his brother when he accidentally ran him over with a truck (and quite rightly so).

Later on in life, Merv also incurred injuries from a broken back after a motorcycling accident, shortly after being nominated for best country rock album at the New Zealand Music Awards.

Merv then dusted himself off, got better after the accident, and elected to leave the farming life behind him so he could dedicate his life to his music, and also to campaigning for social justice.
