NYC-based singer songwriter, Greer Baxter, has recently released her new single ‘Sleeping on the Couch’. Written about the act of ‘sleeping on the couch’ after arguing with the person you love.
Greer has produced a beautiful, pop love-song with crisp vocals, an incredibly chilled beat and a melodic strum of acoustic guitar.
“I wrote this song about suddenly being at odds with the person you love and trying to make sense of it. We’ve all had a night sleeping on the couch and we wake up in the morning thinking: why would we let a fight keep us apart for the night? It’s about wanting to resolve it before falling asleep and wondering if the other person feels the same.” – Greer Baxter
Following Greers previous EP ‘Bleed’, released in 2019, ‘Sleeping on the Couch’ continues her musical exploration. Greer Baxter has been writing music, singing and playing piano from a very young age.
Writing songs about love, relationships and break-ups has given the artist an insight into the emotions before having fully understood them herself.
Her natural talent and raw, relatable sound makes Greer Baxter one to watch in 2021.
“My music therefore tries to connect poetry and melody and that is always my guiding force as I write my songs. I believe words and music can transport you in ways nothing else can. That inspires me and hopefully will inspire others.” – Greer Baxter
Greer Baxter’s new single ‘Sleeping on the Couch’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.
