Currently grabbing the Australian music scene by its throat and turning streams into raging rapids, antipodean IDM behemoths Slumberjack have found the perfect balance to their electronic atmospherics in Machine Age, himself one of the biggest rising stars of the music scene Down Under. Having met whilst on the road, their coming together sees the release of Daggers, a single which builds to an anthemic, crushing chorus which slides its way into your brain like any good earworm should.

The rolling beats lull the listener into a false sense of security, with the crash of synths coming like a gigantic stinger in a horror movie. There’s a strangely ethereal tone to the track which looms ominously throughout – the feeling isn’t one of triumph as such but one of redemption after listening to it, reassured that you made it through to the end without you coming to any harm. As yet there appears to be only the one track but it’s well worth checking out below
