It’s not often you meet a musician who is also an I.T consultant, or vice versa, but this is the case for the determined and motivated character of Bimbi Philips who whilst he’s not in the office, creates an infectious blend of afrobeats, house, dancehall, soca and EDM.
Inspired by the likes of afrobeats legend, Fela Kuti, of whom Bimbi takes inspiration for his lively backing dancers who accompany him at his live shows, as well P-Square and Wayne Wonder, Philips delves into a wide ranging pool of artists who help him form his own style.
Now, Bimbi is releasing his latest single ‘Lamba’ which sees him combining heavy beats with a killer bass line and a fleeting, yet perfectly crafted guitar accompaniment.
