The young and ambitious artist/producer, M3staken, has returned with a ‘continuation’ of his soundtrack album Apex with the new record, Water Colors.
Water Colors picks up where M3 left off with his last record, fusing complex and jarring hip-hop beats with electronic effects and soundscapes. M3’s music won’t suit all tastes, but those who appreciate the production values behind quality electronic music will find a lot to wrap their ears around in Water Colors.
Whilst Apex focused on blending this style unusually with classical piano (a combination that seems incongruous but actually works in a contrasting sort of way), M3 has moved on focusing on honing his unique electronic -hip-hop sound.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Joey Bada$$, FKA Twigs and Jamie xx, M3’s music mixes together a wide range of styles that make his music difficult to pin down due to its ambitious and one of a kind sound.
